Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled that charging employees fees to bring employment tribunal cases is unlawful. The fees were introduced in 2013, and charged individuals up to £1,200 to make a claim. This meant a 79% reduction in employment tribunal cases over the past few years.
This is a significant development and increases employees access to employment tribunals.   It’s very likely there will now be a significant increase in employment related claims.
